Domenico’s Nursery & Landscaping completed the POA’s Landscaping
Improvement Project on Thursday, May 20th.
The project included removing dead or dying plants, shrubs or flowers,
mulching of beds, planting flowers or shrubs and planting the Bismarck Palm in
the island near the Military Trail Gate. The
cost of the project totaled $4,890.50, which was less than the original proposal
of $6,071.50, due to the unavailability of some shrubs that the Landscaping
Committee had approved for the project.
Thompson & Thompson Fencing completed installation of fencing around the
Japanese Spa equipment behind the
Fitness
Center
Building
on Wednesday, May 26th at a cost of $1,275.00.
Upon Palm Beach County Health Departments last inspection; we were
informed that the equipment in this area was required to be fenced in.
The engineering plans for the installation of collector tanks for the Cabana
Club Spa and the Japanese Hot Tubs have been submitted to the Palm Beach County
Health Department for approval. This
process could take up to 30 days before they are returned to our contractor,
Pugh Pools. At that time, we will
schedule this project so that it does not coincide with the removal and
installation of tile in the Clubhouse in July.
During today’s Workshop Meeting, the Board will be approving the proposal from
Papico Construction, Inc. for the resurfacing of tennis courts #2 & #3. The
courts are scheduled to be resurfaced beginning Monday, September 20th,
weather permitting.
Florida Power & Light was supposed to be scheduling a date to install the
equipment for the POA to enroll in FPL’s On Call Program.
After contacting an FPL representative, I was informed that FPL has
decided to delay installing equipment for new participants until further notice.
Management will keep the Board informed of any further developments.
Our staff will begin preliminary work on removal of the planters in the
Clubhouse Lobby and other preparation for the start date of the Flooring
Project. Mario Ferrazoli &
Son’s will begin removal of the Mexican Tile on Friday, July 9th.
The Clubhouse will be closed on that day and will remain closed for at
least one week, due to the air conditioning system being shut down.
As soon as the removal phase is complete, some of the areas will be
reopened during the installation of the tile.
The entire project could take three weeks to complete, but the Pool and
Fitness
Center
Building
will remain open for use and the office will remain operational during the
project.
The office will be closed on Monday, May 31st in observance of
Memorial Day.
Respectfully submitted,
Rick Leach, L.C.A.M.
