Rick Leach announced that the main pool will be closed until Noon on April 13, 2010 . He stated that the audit was coming along and will be available shortly and will be posted.

Old Business

·        Sheila Goodman, Decorating Committee Chairperson, thanked all for their input into the Committee’s choice of tile for the areas chosen in the Main Building . She went on to say that the Committee had reconsidered their choice and were leaning toward the one that Robert Dow held up for viewing. All present, including the Board members, gave their full approval.

·        Additional 3 tiles will be coming in shortly from California to allow the Committee and the Board to see a pattern.

New Business

·        Barry Prince then explained a possible floor plan change, with some expansion, for the Fitness Center , to be considered for next year’s budget. He stated that we at Banyan Springs have to keep updated in all areas, now and in the future, for holding our real estate values. He went on to explain that quite a few communities have state of the art fitness centers, and with today’s lifestyle, we too must have an up-to-date fitness center.

·        Barry Prince then asked the Board to vote upon paying an architectural firm, Yale & Associates, to draw-up a schematic for improving the Fitness Center at a cost of $1,000.00. See letter attached from Yale & Associates Architecture, Inc.

Discussion followed and Joel Brusso clarified that we will be

voting on the expenditure of funds for a floor plan, schematic

    only, at this time.

Joel Brusso also said that we would wait until the budgeting

for the New Year is drawn before starting the project.

Robert Dow made a motion that we engage the firm of Yale

& Associates Architecture, Inc. to take measurements, and

draw a schematic for future enhancing of the Fitness Center

at a cost to us of $1,000.00. Seconded by Harry Sassower and

    passed unanimously.

When asked, Harry Sassower received the information that the

project may possibly cost 70-80 thousand dollars.

·        Barry Prince then asked Joel Brusso how many foreclosures we have here. Joel Brusso replied that we have 7, which when satisfied, we will recover a portion of the shortfall in the budget for that income.

Audience Participation

Several questions were asked regarding the proposed

    improvements.

·        John Fowler, resident, suggested that the Architect’s plans could include the County requested improvements for the two whirlpools in the Fitness Center .

·        Howard Weinberg, resident, said that additional chairs are required, especially during Holiday times at the Main Pool.

·        Barry Prince appointed Howard Weinberg to check on possible chair rentals at those times.

·        Feige Brody asked if we could purchase and possibly store additional chairs.

·        Barry Prince replied that we do not have the space available, and that if we were to purchase chairs, then we may as well put them out for usage at all times.
