MANAGEMENT UPDATE
THURSDAY,
NOVEMBER 19, 2009
------------------------------------------------
The Landscaping Improvement Project, which has been underway for the last couple
of weeks was completed yesterday afternoon.
Top Branch Landscaping along with Domenico’s Nursery and Landscaping
have both been involved in the work, which consisted of replacing sod, mulching
beds, replacing trees, and planting impatiens. The total cost of the project is
$16,268.10 and well within the Landscaping Improvements line item of the 2009
Budget.
Management is in the process of receiving proposals to clean the sidewalks
around the community. We had asked
one of our vendors to test the chemical method to see if it would be effective.
After a test on a small area, we determined that a combination of
chemical treatment and pressure cleaning will be the method and as soon as we
receive another proposal, the Board will move forward.
Last Thursday, The Board of Directors approved the mailing to the membership of
the Finance Committee’s Proposed 2010 POA Budget and to schedule the Budget
Meeting for
Thursday, December 17, 2009
at
10am
in the Banyan Room. On Friday,
November 19th, the office mailed out the Budget Meeting Notice,
Proposed 2010 Budget and the First Notice of Annual Meeting and Election, which
will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in the Center at 9:00am and reconvening
at 7:30pm for the Election results. There
are four vacancies for the POA Board of Directors and we encourage all
interested members to run for the Board. The
deadline for candidates to inform us of their intent to run in writing and
submit a resume or information sheet is
4:00pm
on
Friday, December 11, 2009
. On
Wednesday, December 16, 2009
at
7:30pm
in the Center, there will be the General Meeting for the month, as well as
Candidates Night, which will feature candidates for the 2010 POA Board.
Please mark these dates on your calendar, so you won’t forget to
attend.
At the request of the Board, Management is also working to secure proposals
concerning a remedy to the air conditioning problem with the Billiard Room.
As soon as proposals are in, the Board will review the options before
proceeding further.
The
Holiday
lighting both at the Clubhouse and at the entrance to Banyan Springs will be
lit beginning on Monday, November 23rd.
In the past, we have received many compliments on the decorating at our
main gate and I’m sure this year will be no different.
The offices of Banyan Springs will be closed on Thursday November 26th
and Friday, November 27th in celebration of Thanksgiving.
If you have guests coming for Thanksgiving weekend and need to obtain a
guest pass or access a fob for them to use, please come by the office by
Wednesday, November 25th.
The entire staff and management wish all of our residents and their guests, a
safe and happy Thanksgiving!
Respectfully submitted,
Rick Leach, L.C.A.M.
