ART CLUB

The Banyan Springs Art Club is based on the premise that one does not have to be an artist to enjoy art in its many art forms. Our programs and classes are designed to promote culture in varying levels of expertise and for the general membership.

We currently have a membership of 530 Banyan residents and offer a great variety of activities which provide something for everyone to enjoy.

Children's Arts and Crafts activities will be held during the December and February holiday weeks.

       

The Art Club Board enjoyed planning our 2008-2009 Season with you in mind.  There will be lots of classes, some new, the Annual Concert, trips, lectures, music, book and cinema reviews, movies, and the Art and Craft Show. Your  $5.00 membership dues is your ticket of admission to these activities with special ticket sales to extraordinary events. Check the Art Club Bulletin Board for sign-up instructions and more details.

To add to your enjoyment a state-of-the-art CD player and, for those who need them, eight ear phones specifically for our sound system have been purchased.  In addition, a pottery wheel is in place for a new class.  Additional programs will be two evening membership meetings with entertainment and refreshments, and two coffee/tea hours to display our new creations for the Clothing Art and Deco Designs classes.  Join us for what promises to be a fun-filled Art Club Program.

CINEMA REVIEWS

A panel of film enthusiasts researches and analyzes current popular movies shown in local theaters. A different movie is discussed at each meeting including the technical aspects of the film and the plot line.  Participation by the audience adds to the enjoyment of the afternoon.

Group:  PROJECT LINUS

Knitters and crocheters have contributed over 700 blankets for abused, homeless and mentally and physically challenged children in our tri state counties. Blanketeers are invited to attend monthly meetings.  For details and blanket pick-up call Elaine Belsky, 369-2686,or Flo Greene, 733-2956.
